Removing discontinued products from search results

Discontinued products can be removed from your search results in two ways depending on your system set.

If you are using Dispensing Restricts…

…your preferred products will be marked with an R in your search results

First select the product that you wish to remove from your search list and press enter

Select the User tab then uncheck the boxes for generic and branded restricts.

Press OK to save your change.

If you want to change the Dispensing Restriction to another product

Repeat the steps above with your new chosen product, but this time check the generic or branded restrict boxes.

Finally run a search to check the results appear as you want them to.

If you are not using Dispensing Restricts.

Search for the item you wish to remove and select it in the search results.

Press Enter to expand into the Product Details

Press Delete.

Click the Inactive option which will deactivate the drug but won’t remove it from your database, you can re-activate it later if you need to.

Our Data Team will permanently remove discontinued items from the database when the time is right.

Now press OK and you’re done, just run a search to make sure your search results work for you.
